Photography equipment: the art of tools

For those accustomed to the traditional dominance of dual heavyweights Canon and Nikon, my selection of Sony DSLR cameras can seem an unusual one; I've had more than one client raise an eyebrow at the sight of my gear.

There's several factors behind my choice of the Sony α (Alpha) DSLR platform, and even more reasons to consider this relative newcomer to the DSLR scene. The Konica-Minolta heritage, the technologies honed in Sony's Cybershot range and, importantly, their alliance with the magnificent Zeiss lenses makes Sony a credible and innovative new entrant.
